Summary |
George Alfred Ramsey (1840-1919) was the son of Edmund and Sarah Long (Walker) Ramsey. George was one of nine children. Unlike most of his brothers George did not become a farmer, instead pursing the practice of medicine. He became a physician and a druggist. George married twice: His first wife was Nancy J. Weathery who died in just six years of their marriage in 1875. George then married Sarah Louise Webb in 1882. There were a total of four children fathered by Dr. Ramsey: one from his first marriage, Sarah also known as Sallie, and then three from the second, Alfred Winston, John Edmund, and Mary Kathleen. |
