Summary |
Victor Fairon, Jr. was a 28-year old resident of Sadzot, Belgium. During the Battle of the Bulge, his house was a shelter for American soldiers on Christmas night in 1944, as were many residences in Sadzot. On December 28, he was in a cellar of another Sadzot house with a fellow Belgian man and an American man when a German grenade was thrown into the cellar. The grenade critically wounded Fairon and injured the American, but the Belgian remained unharmed. Fairon was taken back to his house where he died an hour later. |
